Tecnify
Tecnify was founded by shipbuilders who have worked all around the world in the maritime industry. We have negotiated shipbuilding contracts with both shipyards and shipowners, we have designed, built and operated vessels globally, and we have extensive contracting and management experience. Our focus clients are shipyards and shipowners with strong growth ambitions who are eager to keep developing the maritime industry. The key markets we operate in consist of harbours and terminals, yachting, and maritime security.
When working with shipyards, our focus is to develop a product portfolio suitable for the international market and to protect the best interests of the shipyard. We develop projects with our in-house specialists, including design and proposal engineers, naval architects, and our legal and contracting team. We start our projects with intake meetings where we assess the shipyard’s focus and strengths in order to prepare a strategy together. This allows the shipyard to focus on building vessels with a carefully selected supply chain, in control of budgets and delivery under balanced shipbuilding contracts.
When working with shipowners, our focus is to support them in developing a vessel design in line with operational requirements and selecting the most suitable building yard for delivery. We create concept designs that comply with class requirements, local regulations, and the operational sailing profile of the vessel. Together with the shipowner, we prepare full specifications and carry out due diligence on potential shipyards. Our engineering capacity ensures that technical solutions remain practical and aligned with operations, while our contractual and managerial expertise keeps the project balanced. We stay on board from the signing of the shipbuilding contract until the successful delivery of the vessel.
Beyond delivery, we provide tailored ILS packages to support the first five years of operation. With our combined technical expertise and operational experience, we create maintenance strategies that keep vessels efficient and reliable while safeguarding the owner’s commercial and operational goals.
Mission
Tecnify aims to contribute to a future with clean and safe seas. We continuously search for ways to optimize the vessel design process by bringing in new innovations from the industry. We align operational requirements with optimized vessel designs and take into account the full life cycle of the vessel to ensure the lowest environmental impact.
Heusden Shipyard
The shipyard in Heusden has a long and proud history. It was founded in 1905 under the name Bergsche Maas. The company grew quickly, but ran into financial trouble and closed in 1908. A year later, it reopened as Rijn en Maas, and later became De Haan en Oerlemans after new owners took over.
Over the years, the shipyard built many different kinds of ships. In the beginning, it mainly made inland vessels, but soon started building sea-going ships as well. In 1917, the first coastal ship, Ynnur, was launched a big step forward for the yard. In the years that followed, the shipyard became known for building motor coasters and other modern vessels.
After a difficult period, the yard restarted production in 1947. It focused on building motor tankers and coasters, and business improved again. By 1954, after building 275 ships, owner Adriaan de Haan sold the yard to Cornelis Verolme, a well-known shipbuilder in the Netherlands. The yard then became part of Verolme United Shipyards and helped strengthen Dutch shipbuilding.
Today, the Heusden shipyard has evolved into a dynamic maritime hub.
The site hosts a range of specialized companies involved in hull construction, the building of inland and river cruise vessels, and technical maintenance. Activities also include servicing of smaller yachts and commercial vessels, including maintenance work for defense-related operations.
This active environment encourages collaboration between shipbuilders, engineers, and maritime professionals, continuing the long tradition of craftsmanship and innovation in Heusden.
